Have a Purpose

February 25, 2011

What is your purpose?

Sometimes we can go through our daily routines without having (or just forgetting) our purpose.  If you’ve felt randomly dissatisfied or angry even though nothing in particular has happened, maybe you are feeling frustrated with going through the motions but not seeing the goal.  It’s like writing a long paper that won’t be graded, you just don’t see the point.

However, I promise that when you find your motivation, suddenly life will seem a little better.  Who knows, maybe you’ll discover that your purpose has changed from when you started your job or chose your major.  On the other hand, maybe you lost sight of what you were going after and need to readjust your routine.

  • First, identify the main way you spend your time (job, school, volunteering, a relationship).  Then think about what you’re gaining from this commitment.  Are you happy with your answer?  Do your actions match your desire?
